’76ers Tour New OHS!

On Wednesday October 23, 2013 several of our classmates took a tour of the all-new Orrville High School that just opened for it’s first school year. Visiting the new facility were OHS Class of ’76 classmates Shirley Kohler-Weyrauch, Rochell Nolt-Boughton, Cindy Moralle-Yoder, Anna Brant and Patti Davisson-Zimmerly along with Julie Nolt-Hendricks. 2nd ‘Rocktober’ Scholarship Benefit A Success

Some of the OHS Class of ’76 members who attended ROCKTOBER 2
ORRVILLE, OH — The ‘2nd Annual ‘Rocktober Scholarship Benefit’, with all Orrville High School alumni invited, was successfully held this past Friday evening at the Orrville VFW with an enthusiastic crowd on hand to support the Orrville High School Class of 1976 Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Good-Will Band performed and dozens of raffle prizes were given away as well as items from the silent auction.
“It was a wonderful, wonderful evening spent with good friends, good music, good food and for a good cause,” commented Rochell Nolt-Boughton, Chair of the 2nd Annual ‘Rocktober Scholarship Benefit’. “I have to thank all the volunteers and especially the co-chairs who worked diligently at this the past several months, including Teresa Bishop-Riblet, Lori Badertscher-Evans, Debbie Yoder-McDonald, Susan Scott-Curie, Dave Corbett, Anna Brant, Jeffrey Brest, Patti Davisson and Donna Leathers-Smith.”
“The Good-Will Band was just phenomenal and the crowd loved them. We had an abundance and variety of delicious food and even had classmates travel as far away as Arizona, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and Indiana attend. The local businesses who supported our event were very gracious and generous and went above and beyond the call of duty.”
“I’d also like to acknowledge Lori Badertscher-Evans who won the 50/50 and donated her winnings back to the OHS Class of 1976 Memorial Scholarship Fund and those who showed up to help set up and decorate, including Cindy Moralle-Yoder and Mike Beck. It was an outstanding night of camaraderie, friendship and raising money for a wonderful cause.
The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of the Class of 2016, the 40th anniversary of the Class of 1976′s graduation. The Class of 1976 Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of former classmates Daniel Rehm, Steve Rogers, Joe Derflinger, Greg Begert, Mike Weiss, Richard Wright and Burt Jarke.
